SHIP project workshop/Open Day #EUinmyregion

Within the P2020 project SHIP - Solar Heat for Industrial Processes - and joining the European commission iniciative #EUinmyregion, the University of Évora and its organic research group Renewable Energies Chair will organize an Open Day / Workshop at the Solar Concentrators Testing Platform (Herdade da Mitra, University of Évora).

Participation is free and open to any type of public!

The SHIP - Solar Heat for Industrial Processes - project, promoted by a consortium of five organizations, three industrial partners (MCG, OnControl and KEMET) and two R&D partners (INEGI and University of Évora), has the main objective to demonstrate a holistic system of direct integration of solar thermal technologies in industrial processes, testing and validating it and thus guaranteeing its market readiness. It aims to present to a specific target audience and in a real installation, the economic and technical advantages of an innovative solution. Its implementation should result in an increase in the energy efficiency of the industrial unit where it will be installed, in the reduction of the energy costs and, also, to contribute to a better acceptance of solar thermal technologies and other Eco-efficient solutions in general, still very dependent on the quantification of benefits.

This open day will be focused on one of the most innovative components of the system, a quasi-stationary low concentration CPC-type solar collector, designed to work at a medium temperature range (150 - 200 ºC), that the visitors will have the opportunity to see in operation at the experimental facilities of the Renewable Energies Chair of the University of Évora.
